24 HOUR GYM OPENS AT TRINITY SQUARE
A ‘RELUCTANT gym goer’ has opened a 24 hour fitness centre which he hopes will improve the gym experience for many.
Austin Kimm has opened a new branch of Anytime Fitness in Gateshead thanks to a £237,000 Funding For Leisure loan from NatWest.
Following more than two decades of work in the insurance industry, Austin decided to set-up a franchise of the global gym at the recently remodelled Trinity Square development and worked with NatWest Relationship Manager Doug McKenzie on the project.
Members of the new fitness centre have access to state-of-the art equipment 24 hours day as well as private changing facilities. Qualified personal trainers are also be on site to help members achieve their fitness goals.
Austin, who is the director of the franchise, said he hopes his centre will appeal to people of all fitness levels.
He said: “I’m the reluctant gym goer, having tried many over the years and never stuck at it, so this model was very appealing with the option to workout 24 hours a day using high-quality equipment. I really want this centre to be the kind of place people want to go to instead of feeling like they should go because it’s the gym. The facility is quite intimate so our club managers will be able to get know our members personally as we want the centre to have a community feel to it.”
In addition to the loan from NatWest Austin secured a £60,000 loan from Lombard Finance as part of the deal.
Austin said he received great support from Doug along the way.
He added: “Doug has been great and I think he is one of the primary reasons I chose NatWest. He has helped to make the process run as smoothly as possible.”
The gym opened earlier this month.
Doug said: “I’m pleased we’ve been able to support Austin and I’m looking forward to continuing to work together to help meet and exceed his ambitions.”
